Everything We Know About 'John Wick 3' (So Far)
Shooting of John Wick 3 is set to begin next month, and it looks like Keanu Reeves' gun-toting mutt lover will be heading to Japan this time around.
According to Omega Underground, Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, The Last Samurai) is set to play the villain, and a host of Japanese actors have been added to the cast list.
Screenrant speculates that shooting will take place in Canada, Morocco, Jordan, Russia and Spain, but a possible Yakuza storyline could see a bulk of the action being played out in Japan.
It’s set for release on 17 May 2019, but there’ll be plenty of Wick-inspired action available before then. A spin-off TV show, called The Continental, will focus on a refuge for the film series' assassins.
Written by Chris Collins, who previously worked on The Wire and Sons of Anarchy, the series will debut on US TV network Starz.
Starz CEO Chris Albrecht told the Hollywood Reporter: "This series is truly unlike anything else on TV. The Continental promises to include the thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets that fans have come to expect in the John Wick movie franchise as well as introduce some new, darkly compelling characters who inhabit this underground world."
