This Filipino-Canadian Is Now the Voice of Bugs Bunny, Marvin the Martian, Daffy Duck, and More
The American film industry boasts a number of talented Filipino actors—and voice actors too. For decades, Filipinos have voiced characters in cartoons in anime, and one of them just landed his biggest role yet: as the voice behind the iconic Bugs Bunny.
Filipino-Canadian voice actor Eric Bauza has landed the huge role in the upcoming film Space Jam: A New Legacy, the sequel to the hit '90s film Space Jam that starred Michael Jordan. The basketball champion taking over from Jordan? None other than LeBron James.
Aside from James, Bauza will co-star alongside Don Cheadle and Jim Carrey. Now that’s one star-studded cast.
Bauza isn’t just voicing Bugs Bunny—he’ll also be voicing Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Tweety, and Pepe Le Pew, all of which he also voices in HBO Max’s Looney Tunes Cartoons.
Bauza is one seasoned voice actor with shows like Spongebob Squarepants, The Fairly Oddparents, and Rick and Morty under his belt. Name an animated show, and his name is probably somewhere in the credits. His voice also appeared in Avatar: The Last Airbender, alongside famed Filipino-American actor Dante Basco, who voiced antagonist/protagonist Zuko in the show.
