ICYMI: This Behind-the-Scenes Video Will Get You Even More Excited for Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral
In December 2017, movie buffs were treated to an "exclusive, behind-the-scenes look" at Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral that played before every screening of the book-turned-movie, Smaller and Smaller Circles. But don't worry if you weren't able to catch it on the big screen! TBA Studios has released a video that gives you a special look into one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year.
The film, which is a sequel to 2015's Heneral Luna, will still be helmed by director Jerrold Tarog. This time, it stars Paulo Avelino as the titular Goyo a.k.a. Gregorio del Pilar, who was one of the youngest—if not the youngest—general during the Philippine Revolution and the Philippine-American War. Goyo revolves around how del Pilar deals with the death of Antonio Luna.
In the behind-the-scenes video, you'll see the intense preparation the cast and crew go through to produce the historical biopic. There are big set pieces, huge green screens, and mountainous terrains as location sites for shooting. You'll see the actors undergoing makeup and rigorous stunts and scenes, like Avelino shooting underwater. It also shows clips of interviews with Tarog, Avelino, and some of the producers of the film.
