Guardians Of The Galaxy Is Already Promising To Be Marvel's Best Franchise

Here are a few of the reasons Guardians of the Galaxy was Marvel's best movie in years: Chris Pratt, stunning visual effects, a throwback soundtrack, Chris Pratt, and the ability to not take itself too seriously. The movie set the bar for subsequent superhero films like Deadpool that were fun again, that were original, that weren't the typical gritty cerebral events popularized by Christopher Nolan's brilliant, though frequently and poorly copied, Batman movies. In other words, Guardians was refreshing.
In the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, we get all those same elements that made the original film great: There's "Hooked On a Feeling," some crazy-looking aliens, Pratt's lovable mug, and a deadpan joke from Dave Bautista as Drax.
And, damn, after that Batman v. Superman movie and that Suicide Squad movie and those Avengers movies crammed ass-to-ankles with heroes, it's nice to be back in space with the Star-Lord. Next May can't come soon enough.
