The latest rumor in the film industry centers on John Arcilla reprising his role as General Antonio Luna in the Manny Pacquiao-led biopic of General Miguel Malvar.

However, Heneral Luna’s production house TBA Studios has categorically denied the rumors that Arcilla will appear as Luna in the General Malvar film. According to TBA, Arcilla approached the studio to assist him regarding the rumors about his supposed cameo in the film.

"There are restrictions involved and we were surprised he was name-dropped without permission. It's fake news," said TBA Studios.

Pacquiao’s Malvar biopic has been the buzz of the industry after news hit that boxer, actor, and Senator landed the starring role. The film has also been at the center of controversy as a great-grandson of Malvar spoke out, protesting the casting choices of the film and the film’s overall production without the entire family’s consent.

The film is being produced by JMV Productions, which is headed by Jose Malvar Villegas, Jr., a grandson of the revolutionary hero.
