Bond 25 Is Getting a Whole New Script

Bond 25 seems to be up in the air.

Since the exit of Danny Boyle from the Bond series, Bond 25 has been a bit up in the air. But as the old saying goes, when God closes one Danny Boyle, he opens up a Neal Purvis and Robert Wade. Ok, that's not quite the saying, but the inclusion of those two guys is good news.

After Boyle's exit, the screenwriting duo, who have been on board since 1999's The World Is Not Enough, were tapped to take over script-writing duties, combining parts of Boyle's intended approach and their own proposed treatment of Bond 25. The news, originally reported by The Daily Mail, isn't a total surprise; since Boyle's departure, it was heavily assumed that Purvis and Wade would return to helm a new direction for the franchise. MGM did not issue a comment on the move.

As for a director, that role is still up in the air. While certain names have been tossed around as possible replacements, there's still no shoo-in choice. The film, still slated for a November release date next year, has no announced plans of being off schedule, but once all the pieces and parts are in place again, that's almost guaranteed to change.

Nevertheless, Bond fans can rest assured that Bond 25 is in good, experienced (and licensed to kill) hands.
