Jeremy Renner Finished Filming An Action Movie After Breaking Both His Arms

Jeremy Renner has a lot to be grateful to VFX and green screen for.
First they make him look like a competent archer in Avengers, then they give him something to be a bit terrified of in Arrival, and now they give him two functioning, not-smashed-up arms after an accident on the set of his latest film.
Renner fractured his right elbow and left wrist while filming a stunt for Tag, his new comedy with Jon Hamm, but Hamm says Renner got around the extremely obvious fact that he had two broken arms by wearing "green screen casts that we eventually painted out in the editing".
Speaking to Ellen Degeneres on her chat show, Hamm said there had been a few on-stage accidents on Tag, which is literally about a big game of tag which gets out of hand.
"The most notable being - I wasn’t there that day, so it’s impossible to blame this on me—Jeremy Renner, who broke both of his arms at the same time," Hamm said. "Day three of production. We had 40 more days to go."
Clearly, less than ideal. "Keep in mind this is a man who’s done a hundred Avengers movies and been fine,” Hamm went on. “And he does a movie about playing tag: both arms. Like firewood. Just snapped like a matchstick."
Hamm had been on a big promo push for Baby Driver in London at the time of the original accident. "I got back and I was like, 'How’s it going?' and everyone was like, 'Not great.'"
