Lena Headey's Last Scene As Cersei Lannister Was A Massive Let-Down
With the final season of Game of Thrones only three months away now, the cast have all said their final farewells to their costumes, their wigs, their swords and everything else that made them become their characters. For some it's been hard; for some it's been easy. For Lena Headey, it was incredibly dull.
Despite being initially reticent to say anything at all lest HBO's private militia descend on her–"I can't tell you anything, they'd kill me"–Headey did mention to Variety that actually, the whole thing was very, very boring.
"My last day on set was really weirdly tedious, because I just had to shoot going up and down these stairs and that was it," she said, squashed onto a sofa next to Stephen Merchant.
That sounds like a pretty rubbish way to see the show off, especially as Maisie Williams has already described her own final shooting scene as being "perfect". "I was alone–shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone," she told the Guardian last October. "But I was alone and I had watched a lot of other people wrap. I knew the drill, I had seen the tears and heard the speeches."
Last time we saw Cersei, she was pregnant with her brother Jaime's child and all on her own at King's Landing after he'd decided potential death with the forces massing to take on the White Walkers was preferable to hanging out with her any longer.
