Liza Soberano Will Star in Upcoming Horror-Comedy Lisa Frankenstein With Cole Sprouse

It's legit: Liza Soberano's acting prowess has reached Hollywood. We know you've heard whispers swirling around and yup, we finally have official reports confirming it. Soberano is slated to star in a horror-comedy called Lisa Frankenstein from Focus Features, as reported by Deadline. No joke, that's the title. The rumors were first made official, well, relatively official, when folks noticed that Hollywood stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse began following the Filipino actress on Instagram—and it looks like we soon might just get to see pics of them together on the feed.

Here's everything we know so far about Liza Soberano's first Hollywood movie.

Soberano posted a screencap of the Deadline report to her IG on August 12, PH time. "Ecstatic to be part of this film," she wrote, complete with an emoji of what looks like Frankenstein's monster. The IG tag clearly states New Orleans, where production is currently underway.

Lisa Frankenstein is directed by actor-filmmaker Zelda Williams, whose name might be familiar as she is the daughter of the late Robin Williams. It was penned by the awarded Diablo Cody. And as for the cast? Well, aside from Sprouse and Newton, the list of stars include Carla Gugino,  Henry Eikenberry, and Joe Chrest (of Stranger Things).

The film is set in 1989 and will follow a high-school student (Newton) who accidentally reanimates a Victorian corpse (Sprouse). She then begins to make, literally speaking, her dream man out of him with the help of a broken tanning bed. Hey, it's the end of the '80s, isn't it? No word yet on what Soberano's role will be but we'll keep watch.
