Marvel Showed Us a Glimpse of Their Upcoming Disney+ Shows in a Super Bowl Teaser

Series featuring Loki, Vision, Scarlet Witch, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier are all set to debut on the streaming service.

Disney Plus has been around for a few months now, and the streaming service has been teasing zillions of Marvel TV shows since it was first announced back in November 2018. But until the Super Bowl, we hadn't seen any actual footage of these upcoming series.

A "Big Game" TV spot premiered shortly after the Super Bowl halftime show revealing a sizable gumbo of steaming hot Marvel content. The Wanda/Vision show is briefly shown, along with the Falcon/Winter Soldier series, as well as the Loki standalone show. Yeah, Loki is going to have his own show.

Disney's really milking it with these characters–some of them have appeared in almost ten movies already. The thing is, though, the footage of the shows looks...pretty damn good.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is set to premiere sometime in late 2020. Details are sparse–as they are with all of these upcoming series–but based on what we can see in this Super Bowl trailer, Bucky and Sam are picking up the pieces after Captain America went back into the past and came back extra old and wrinkly. Seems like Sam's got the shield now, and Baron Zemo is back as a central villain. And the best part is, it looks like Daniel Bruhl's going to be donning the goofy Zemo suit from the comics, if the images on his Instagram account are to be trusted.

Next up in the trailer is the bizarre-looking WandaVision series, which stars Elizabeth Olson and Paul Bettany. Just as we've been hearing, the show looks like an old-fashioned sitcom, but with some inter-dimensional time-hopping flourishes. For the very first time in the MCU, Wanda Maximoff is shown fully decked out in her classic Scarlet Witch costume–though something tells me not everything we see here is as it seems. Let's hope they put a laugh track in this one.

And finally, we got a very teeny look at what's in store for the Loki series. Tom Hiddleston is decked out in what looks to be a prisoner uniform. Where exactly he's imprisoned is a mystery right now. But he promises to "Burn this place to the ground," wherever it is. Owen Wilson, of all people, was recently confirmed for the Loki show. Who knows, maybe Wilson is Loki's goofy best friend.

It's hard to tell exactly what the hell is going on with these Disney Plus shows. Disney has been extra cryptic with everything, and we don't even have any concrete release dates yet. But whatever is going on with the MCU, it better not fail–Kevin Feige is clearly betting big on this new streaming service. Hopefully Disney Plus ends up being a worthwhile alternative to the big blockbuster movies.
