Spider-Man: Far From Home offered a welcome bit of teenage levity after the somber events of Avengers: Endgame. But as the first Marvel film to be released after Endgame, it had to reckon with the aftermath of the Hulk's half-of-all-life-restoring finger snap. Luckily, in an interview with Variety, the film’s writers helped clear up some of the mysteries.

All those what-ifs that Marvel fans pondered after Thanos's original finger snap was reversed? Spider-Man writers Chris McKenna And Erik Sommers were thinking about them, too. One question they cleared up with Variety was whether or not Thanos’s snap eliminated half of all life forms in the universe, or just half of all sentient beings. Turns out, Thanos did everyone dirty—even the microscopic stuff.

"All life forms [disappeared], said Mckenna. "Even down to the bacteria in your digestive system. We were wondering if we could make a whole plot point about people’s digestive systems that were really screwed up.”

And what about people who were snapped out of existence at particularly inopportune moments, like while at the wheels of speeding cars or in airplanes 30,000 feet above ground? Were they snapped back to life mid-air or in the off-ramp lane?

Thankfully, those folks made it back in one piece, too. "We were told that when Bruce [Banner] brings everyone back that he accounted for that, that was part of his wish," said McKenna. "Everyone came back safe and sound. We don’t have to worry about people falling out of the skies."
