The Philippines' First Official Marvel Run Should Get You Off Your Couch, Nerds
Following the fever pitch of Infinity War and the recent Blu-Ray release of Black Panther, fans are likely caught up watching and re-watching any or all of the movies and shows of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We can't blame anyone for wanting to revisit old stories and examine all the details—after all, it's a sprawling multi-franchise with a bright future ahead of it (Luke Cage Season 2 and Ant-Man And The Wasp are imminent!).
But at the risk of Marvel movie fatigue and other more alarming health conditions, it helps to channel fanhood into other more productive and social activities as well. Maybe something that isn't sitting on your couch for hours and re-watching Civil War to the point of committing every single line to memory; or firing up the comments section of a YouTube video essay explaining why Loki isn't actually dead yet. Maybe something like—*gasp*—exercise?!
Yes, exercise. Marvel fans need it too. And they'd have nothing to complain about at ColorManila's upcoming Marvel Run Philippines 2018—a fun run that they've put together in partnership with the local contingent of Marvel Studios. You might remember ColorManila for previous rave-like running events in which paint powders and blacklights are main features. They've done themed runs before, and will be rolling out an official Marvel-themed run on July 7 at the SM Mall of Asia Event Grounds:
Participants can choose from three types of race kits: The standard "Deluxe Race Kit" costs P1,500 and contains an official Marvel athletic T-shirt in black, color packets, and a finisher's medal. The "Premium Race Kit" costs P2,050 and contains an official Marvel athletic T-shirt in your choice of green, gray, or blue; plus matching sunglasses, color packets, a drawstring bag with a towel, and a finisher's medal. The "VIP Race Kit" goes for P3,050 and contains all the same things as the Premium Race Kit, plus access to a VIP lounge. As for the distances, participants can choose between a 10K, a 5K, or for true couch potatoes, a 3K.
