Make sure your HBO Go subscription is updated because The Suicide Squad has finally dropped in the Philippines. Finally, Filipino viewers will get to enjoy the latest installment of the DC Extended Universe featuring the franchise’s rudest and crudest villains.

Not quite a sequel, not quite a reboot, The Suicide Squad follows supervillains “dying to save the world”—literally. If you’ve watched the 2016 film, you know that their lives hang in the balance. The super-secret, super-shady Task Force X is made up of Bloodsport (Idris Elba), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Peacemaker (John Cena), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Ratcatcher 2 (Daniella Melchior), Savant (Michael Rooker), King Shark (voiced by Sylvester Stallone), Blackguard (Pete Davidson), Polka-dot Man (David Dastmalchian), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), and more.

The motley crew will face the military and guerrilla forces of the fictional island nation of Corto Maltese, which is hiding a weapon that Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) wants to be destroyed. And as we learned from the 2016 film, whatever Waller wants, she gets.

Described as outrageous, irreverent, and hilarious, the film is directed by James Gunn, who’s already made a name for himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I have loved the Suicide Squad since I was very young,” said Gunn.

“They’re one of my favorite groups of comic book anti-heroes. I’m always interested in people who have not lived their best lives and have an opportunity to become something better—a chance at redemption. Some of them take it, some don’t; it’s humanity in all its various degrees of morality, and I get to put it on screen in a really grand, exciting way, with aliens and monsters and a walking shark.”

You can watch The Suicide Squad now on HBO Go. Also streaming on the platform from the DCEU are: Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Wonder Woman 1984, Birds of Prey, Suicide Squad (2016), and The Dark Knight trilogy. Also streaming are DC series’ Supergirl, Flash, Superman & Lois, Pennyworth, Watchmen, and more.

HBO Go is available for download in the App Store and Play Store for as low as P99.70 per month.
