This 'Wonder Woman' Star Could Be The Next Bond Villain
Wonder Woman's Said Taghmaoui says he's in the running to play the villain in Bond 25, but is waiting to find out whether producers want Daniel Craig to battle a Middle Eastern or a Russian foe.
Taghmaoui, who was also in American Hustle, told Middle Eastern news website The National that he is "supposed to do the next James Bond, playing the lead bad guy" during the semi-finals in the judging of the International Emmys.
"We don’t know who the director will be, and the producers don’t know if they’re going to go Russian or Middle East with the baddie right now," Taghmaoui said. "I literally just received a message saying: ‘If they go Middle East, it’s you. If they go Russian, it’s someone else.'"
While Taghmaoui admitted that playing Generic Evil Middle Eastern Man "could be seen as a big cliché", and there's nothing concrete at the minute, especially as Danny Boyle has jumped ship, he sounded pretty keen on the idea. "I was cast by Danny Boyle, and just now he left the project, so of course there’s some uncertainty," Taghmaoui added.
While Bond has fought Generic Evil Middle Eastern Man before—there was exiled Afghan prince Kamal Khan in Octopussy, and the Mujahideen pop up in The Living Daylights—Daniel Craig's Bond has mainly had barneys with European wrong 'uns.
