A New Trese Teaser Gives Us Our First Real Glimpse at the Netflix Anime Series

Netflix also tweeted out a poem as an additional teaser.

Good news for you Trese fans: we finally have a release date for the Netflix anime series based on the horror and crime comic by Budjette Tan and Kajo Baldisimo. There's a brand new teaser, albeit short, lumped in with the rest of the streaming platform's upcoming releases for June 2021.

Trese reimagines Metro Manila with supernatural creatures that have crossed over from the underworld as crime syndicates. The protagonist is a detective named Alexandra Trese who specializes in tracking down these supernatural criminals. Watch the teaser below.

The clips are short, but for fans of the comic, there are definitely some details to pick out.  Along with the teaser, Netflix Philippines also tweeted out a poem as an additional teaser. From the looks of it, we're getting a better look soon—more soon than we all think. Read the poem below.

Bukas ng alas nuwebe,
sabi ng isang dwende:

"Buksan ang iyong mata,
talasan ang tainga."

Mayroong hiwagang bumabalot
sa patikim ng paparating—

Hindi mo pa natutuklasan,
at maaring hindi inaasahan.

Wag kalumutang bigkasin
ang mga katagang:
"Tabi-tabi po."

Liza Soberano and Shay Mitchell will voice the character of Alexandra Trese in the Filipino and English versions, respectively. The release date for the Netflix anime series is set for June 11.
