It's Finally Here. Triangle of Sadness Is Now Showing in 49 Cinemas Nationwide
The award-winning movie Triangle of Sadness has finally arrived in major cinemas around the country. Starring Filipino actress Dolly de Leon, Triangle of Sadness is now showing in 49 cinemas nationwide, courtesy of TBA Studios, the film’s exclusive distributor in the Philippines.
Triangle of Sadness premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival in May, where it received a standing ovation and the coveted Palme d’Or. Director Ruben Östlund’s black satire follows the guests and crew of a luxury ship that later capsizes, forcing the group to survive on a deserted island. Triangle of Sadness is a study of power, corruption, and capitalism, unafraid to show the ugly side of human nature.
Dolly de Leon stars as the cleaner Abigail, who takes charge of this ragtag group of spoiled socialites after they escape to an island. But even Abigail, who sits at the bottom of the social ladder, isn’t immune to the corruption of power.
Experts believe that Filipino actress Dolly de Leon could receive an Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Abigail in Triangle of Sadness. So now might be the best time to catch Triangle of Sadness in local cinemas.
