Why does this new Planet of the Apes movie look so damn good?

This sounds like the type of thing that Hollywood would absolutely fuck up: A Planet of the Apes prequel in which monkeys with guns fight humans with guns. That sounds dumb as hell!

But, put all preconceptions aside, and watch this trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes.

Every type of action movie has been done, yet this seems completely original. Plus, Woody Harrelson! Doing this!

Sign me up.

Really, this should come as no surprise, since, against all odds, the first two films in this series were also great. And they just keep getting better. Plus, after this year, I'm rooting for the apes.
