What Did Daenerys Whisper In Ser Jorah's Ear? 'Game Of Thrones' Actor Opens Up On The Emotional Scene

WARNING: Game of Thrones season 8, episode 4 spoilers. Obviously.

Ser Jorah’s enduring love for Daenerys led to one of the most heart-rending moments in Game of Thrones history last week, when the former spy heroically sacrificed himself for her protection during the Battle of Winterfell.

Last night’s episode opened on a funeral pyre, where Jorah’s corpse was set to be cremated alongside his fellow victims of the fight against the Night King. But before their bodies were turned to ash, Dany bent down to whisper a few indecipherable words into her best mate's ear.

So what did she say? Emilia Clarke was instructed to come up with something herself by the showrunners, Lost in Translation-style. Given the close friendship Clarke has formed with Jorah actor Ian Glen over the past eight years, it was undoubtedly an emotional moment for them both.

So emotional, in fact, that they’ve decided to keep it to themselves.

"It's something entirely sincere and true to the moment and something that I'll never forget," Ian Glen told Entertainment Weekly.

Asked how he’ll deal with fans constantly bugging him about the moment, Glen replied:

“I'll always cherish it because it's something no-one will ever know but the two of us. And that's a memory to hold onto."
