Bring a Plant, Get a Discount at This Artist’s One-of-a-Kind Album Launch

Let’s start with her name. Just call her ((( O ))). We’re not exactly sure how to say it when we see her passing on the street (“Hey ((( O )))!”), so we’ll probably just go with the regular “O.”
In truth, ((( O ))) is the alter ego of June Marieezy, an indie folk artist perhaps best known for her well-applauded sets at music festivals like Malasimbo. Her music can perhaps be categorized as a hybrid of neo-soul and R&B, but fans would say she’s so much more than that. You can find out for yourself by playing her debut album, Sundrop ((( 1 ))), which was released in August this year. Containing 12 tracks or what she calls “moondrops,” the songs take listeners to an “ethereal” and “intricate” musical experience of nature.
Sundrop ((( 1 ))) is the first of a planned 12-album project, and to officially launch it, ((( O ))) is holding a truly unique album launch she’s calling Gathering ((( 1 ))).
The first part of The Gathering ((( 1 ))) will hold 12 Listening Galleries, each with a native plant and special scent to represent the “moondrop” or song. Organizers say the dynamic and interactive experience is meant to “reconnect with our identity through our roots and its hidden natural treasures.”
Aside from the Listening Galleries, homegrown sustainable brands and organizations will also be present to showcase their story and locally sourced products to inspire attendees to share in that vision.
The second part of the celebration will be a Musical Gathering where the entire room immerses in a 360-degree projection experience with drum circles, performances from selected underground homegrown artists and a closing show by ((( O ))) herself.
Produced in collaboration with The Collective in Hong Kong K and The Living Library, PH, along with homegrown sustainable brands, The Gathering ((( 1 ))) is truly a rare and special event you need to catch.
We can’t say we’ve ever heard of an album launch like this before, so if you’re curious, head on over to The Eye in Green Sun, Makati on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Doors open at 1 p.m.
By the way, attendees who bring one Philippine native plant and/or seeds will be entitled to 20 percent off purchased ticket. More details at https://thesundropgarden.com/manila.
