Ja Rule is Threatening to Give Fyre Festival 2.0 a Go
As a wise man once said: a good idea is a good idea forever. It's perhaps with that nugget of philosophy in mind that, when he was ambushed by TMZ at LAX airport yesterday, Ja Rule suggested that, actually, doing another Fyre Festival might be a brilliant idea.
He's working on another music artist booking app called Icon, which sounds almost exactly the same as the now-abandoned music artist booking app Fyre which the original festival was designed to promote.
By the sound of it, he's not had many new ideas for its marketing, and fancies promoting Icon with its own super-luxury music festival. "I have plans to create the Iconic music festival, but you didn't hear it from me," Ja said before giggling and running away.
Before that swift exit, Ja said he's not watched either the Netflix or Hulu Fyre docs - "I lived it man, I don't need to watch it" - and that he's fairly disappointed with how Fyre Festival 1.0 panned out in the end.
"It's not funny to me man. It's heartbreaking to me. It's something I really wanted to be special and amazing, and it just didn't turn out that way. But, in the midst of chaos there's opportunity."
