National Artist for Music Levi Celerio popularized the practice of playing a song using a single leaf as musical instrument. It’s a dying tradition, with very few people able to do it today. But here’s something cool: two leaf musicians performing a classic Christmas song accompanied by a musical ensemble.

Made possible by Nissan Philippines and filmed in the Rajah Sikatuna Protected Landscape in Bohol, one of the country’s largest natural rainforests, the performance is a way to remind people “of the beauty and importance of nature this holiday season.” It’s also a clever way for Nissan to promote its bestselling electric vehicle, the Leaf.

“As we celebrate the holidays with our loved ones, it is also important for us to be reminded of the beauty of nature and why we need to safeguard it,” says Nissan Philippines President and Managing Director Atsushi Najima. “May this performance be an inspiration for everyone to start their own journey towards sustainability,” he adds.
