Atlanta-based singer-songwriter Teddy Swims recently announced an upcoming Asia tour, which will include legs in Japan, Singapore and the Philippines. AEG Presents Asia and Insignia Presents will be producing Swims’ very first concert in the country to be held at the Samsung Hall of SM Aura Premier on August 3 as he performs his music live for his Filipino fans.
Jaten Dimsdale a.k.a. Teddy Swims first caught our attention from his makeshift bedroom studio covering hits from his favorite artists and garnering hundreds of millions of views on Youtube. Our favorites are his renditions of Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One, Mario’s Let Me Love You, Stevie Wonder’s Knocks Me Off My Feet, Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles, and most definitely Valerie originally performed by the Zutons and most recently popularized by the late Amy Winehouse.
With a solid following of about four million, Swims has since moved on to performing his own original music on national television in the U.S. in addition to his covers. His musical style is a unique mix of soul, R&B, rock and hip-hop all backstopped by his powerful vocals. Previously featured by Billboard, American Songwriter, Flaunt, and Idolator to name a few, Rolling Stone dubbed him as “Artist to Watch” back in 2021.

Swims’ recent EPs Sleep is Exhausting and Tough Love were positively received and his collaboration with Armin van Buuren and Matoma on the dance anthem Easy to Love earlier this year introduced him to a wider global audience who might have not been acquainted with the soulful singer out of Georgia before then. His performance last year on America’s Got Talent of Don’t Stop Believin’ with Season 14 winner Kodi Lee and Journey guitarist Neal Schon won even more fans over for Swims. He has also collaborated with several artists on their singles such as Illenium’s All That Really Matters, Meghan Trainor’s Bad For Me and MK & Burns’ Better.
Manila is in for a great show as Teddy Swims blurs and transcends genres to serve up just unanimously plain and simple great music everyone will enjoy. Other stops in Asia will be at SCAPE the Ground Theatre in Singapore on August 5 and at Duo Music Exchange in Tokyo on August 7. This is part of a larger tour beginning in the UK on July 6 with other shows in Ireland and Australia before wrapping up in New Zealand by the end of August.
Tickets are priced at P2,650 for Floor Standing and P1,910 for Balcony. They go on sale this weekend beginning on May 27 at 10 a.m. via www.insigniapresents.com or at SM Tickets outlets.
