15,000 Penis Measurements Later, We Have an Average Size

Fifteen-thousand penises is a lot of penises. Able-bodied men from the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa all took up the call to arms and stripped down for one of the largest, most definitive penis-size studies in history. Their ages ranged from 17 to 91. 

Here we go:

When erect: 5.16 inches in length, 4.6 inches girth

When flaccid: 3.6 inches in length, 3.7 inches girth

According to the study, just 2.28 percent of the population has an abnormally large or small penis, and researchers found no correlation between penis size and shoe size. Nor was race an inherent size indicator, though most of the study's participants were of European or Middle Eastern descent. 

As reported by Agence France-Presse via The Guardian, the study, which was published today in the British Journal of Urology International, is the first to use both length and girth in its final graph. The kicker? All 15,000 participants volunteered to be measured, which might skew the results toward "more confident" men. 

Still, breathe easy knowing that Dirk Diggler was a true rarity.
