Apple Is Unveiling a Cheaper iPhone Soon and Here's Everything We Know So Far
It seems like everyone is waiting in anticipation of Apple to release its next flagship iPhone series. In case you haven't gotten to look into their latest drop, the iPhone 11 series comes with some pretty cool features, so we can only imagine what exciting new specs the iPhone 12 might possibly have.
For those of you still gathering the funds to upgrade your smartphone to the latest model, we have some exciting news: word on the street is that Apple is set to release a more affordable version of the iPhone as early as March of this year. You may recall previous iPhone models released by Apple throughout the years also made to be inexpensive versions of their flagship phones such as the iPhone 5c and the iPhone SE. We stumbled upon a Mashable video speculating on the possible cheaper iPhone to be released this year, and we did a little digging of our own. Here's what we found.
It looks like it will be called the iPhone SE 2 or the iPhone 9
It will sport the same look as the iPhone 8
The rumored iPhone SE 2 (or the iPhone 9) is said to feature the same 4.7-inch display screen on the iPhone 8 which is great news for those looking for a more compact iPhone.
It will bring back the home button and Touch ID
Those who miss having the option to use your fingerprint to unlock your phone will be pleased to know that Apple is bringing back the Touch ID through their new smartphone. It also looks like the new iPhone won't have the Face ID function.
It will employ the same processor as the iPhone 11
According to this video by Mashable, the iPhone SE 2 or the iPhone 9 is set to have the same powerful A13 Bionic processor as the iPhone 11.
It's expected to be priced at U.S. $399
Apple's much-anticipated low-cost smartphone is set to start at U.S. $399 (roughly P20,000)—significantly lower than the starting price of the iPhone 11 which is U.S. $699 or P47,990 in the Philippines.
It might be unveiled sooner than you think
According to Bloomberg, Apple is set to unveil their new smartphone model as early as March.
