Famous Filipinos Join the Facebook Avatar Bandwagon

If you woke up this morning and your Facebook feed was filled with avatars of friends, well, you're not alone.

Some loved the good vibes and quickly came up with their own, while others had something snarky to say, as always. Many younger users took to Twitter (away from the prying eyes of their parents) to express their disdain.

While these younger users have been using bitmojis and memojis for years, older Generation Xers (such as their parents) immediately latched on to the new feature last night.

So much so, that the avatars seemed to have edged out those Jose Mari Chan 'ber memes that were trending earlier in the day as we entered September.

Here are some of our favorites.

National Artist Ben Cab could've created a much better avatar on his own, but he clearly moves with the zeitgeist. Yesterday, he shared a photo with Chan, a play on the trending meme. Today, his profile photo showed his avatar with a baseball cap and sneakers, his signature look. We love him.

We love the avatar he made for Vice President Leni Robredo after her address to the nation last week. Isn’t it adorable?

The Vice President didn't make one of her own, as she is commemorating the birthday of her late mother. We think she may have on another day, as she gamely joined the black-and-white challenge bandwagon a few weeks ago.

We decided to see what she would look like as a Facebook avatar and came up with this one. Must admit Robert's is much cuter though.

We also came up with one for the President. What do you think of it?

If you want a cartoon-like version of yourself, just open the menu on your Facebook app and tap See More. Scroll down to find the Avatar option where you can customize everything from your skin tone to eye shape.

Go! And share it in the comments section so we can see what you look like.
