Apple isn't the only phone brand hoping to drain us of funds in the run-up to Christmas by releasing new phones. Google is at it as wellwith one little pet-peeve.

It seems whenever you get a shiny new phone, along with a charger there's always a set of headphones thrown in as standard, right?

Well, Google has just done away with that little freebie with the release of the two new Pixel phones.

That also means they've jumped on the bandwagon and done away with the headphone jack too, though they are nice enough to throw in a little headphone adapter as a consolation prize.

Just like Apple, Google has released two models of the new phonethe standard and the XL versionboth of which have lovely OLED screens.

The standard Pixel 2 has a five-inch screen and comes available in Just Black, Clearly White and Kinda Blue colors, where the XL is a six-inch screen and comes in Just Black and Black and White.

Budding filmmakers rejoice: the camera has been updated to include a pretty cool Augmented Reality function where you can add emojis and virtual characters to your photos and videos. Which sounds... good?

The Pixel 2 will cost $1,260 (P64,470.42). Pixel 2 is released on October 19, with XL arriving almost a month later on 15 November.
