Google has been in the Philippines for 4 years now, but they opened their new headquarters in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig just last month. Naturally, we had to check it out.

Upon entering Google Philippines’ zany office, it's impossible not to notice the company’s logo bearing colors of the Philippine flag, set on a backdrop inspired by the Ivatan’s “bahay na bato” in Batanes. Decorations include railings taken from an old house, as well as windows made from kapis and nara.

In the lobby, a giant G hangs above the waiting area.

The meeting rooms are named after Philippine icons and famous local landmarks. For example, "Vinta" is adorned with textiles from the south, while "Bohol" is covered in wallpaper featuring the Chocolate Hills. But what firmly places this office on a league of its own is "Inay," a room specifically for new moms.

To top it off, furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue incorporated natural elements into Google Philippines' new space. If you find the chance to visit, you must try his piece called "Chiquita", which is made of vertical rattan poles that recede when you sit down. Trust us, you won't want to get up.

As if their layout couldn't be more enviable, they have a gaming area complete with a basketball court and a ping-pong table; the walls are painted with the Android simulacra of some of our favorite athletes: swimmer Erick Buhain, runner Lydia De Vega, and bowler Paeng Nepomuceno. Right next to this area is the Café Fiesta, where employees can enjoy a buffet spread for lunch and a fully stocked snack bar 24/7. As we expected from Google, everything about their office lends itself to the concept of balance and productivity.
