Listen to the Sound of a Blackhole Tearing Time and Space Apart

What is the sound of time and space being torn apart? Quite menacing, actually.

A black hole's gravitational pull is super powerful, no information escapes it, not even light. But somehow, NASA scientists were able to capture and record the sound of a massive black hole tearing time and space apart

The black hole in question is a massive one located in the Perseus Galaxy Cluster, which is a cluster of galaxies in the constellation Perseus, located 240 million lightyears from Earth. According to NASA, they recorded the eerie sound through digital sonification of the electromagnetic waves being emitted from the black hole.

“The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we've picked up actual sound,” NASA tweeted. The actual sound produced by the black hole is beyond the range of human hearing. The sound is so low, human ears could not hear them. So NASA scaled up the audio and converted the pitch to make it audible.
