These Are the Scariest Horror Video Games, According to Study
Video games have gotten more and more realistic over the years. And, that means even the horror-themed ones have become scarier than before. Don't believe us? Put it to the test by playing the scariest video games as determined by a new study.
Online marketplace OnBuy Gaming has just revealed the scariest among the bunch by asking over 800 people to play the highest-rated horror video games around. The retailer then monitored each of the participant's heartbeat while playing.
What it found was that co-op game Phasmophobia, which was released by Kinetic Games in September, was the most terrifying. We're not gonna spoil much about the game, but the term phasmophobia refers to a fear of ghosts. Ooh.
Gamers had an average heartbeat of 137 BPM while playing the video game. That's compared to the normal heart rate which ranges from 60 to 100 bpm. See the rest of the games that made the list below.
