This Is Nothing. And It Is Launching in the Philippines

“It’s easy to make something. Even easier when it’s just like the thing before it. And the one before that. But like all good things, this one starts from scratch. No notes. No blueprints. No map to find our way back.”
That’s what you’ll find in Nothing’s About Us section. “In 2020, we pressed a giant reset button and founded Nothing,” writes Carl Pei, CEO and Co-Founder of Nothing.
The brand is launching the Nothing Phone (1) in the Philippines on July 18, 2022 through Commonwealth, the cool boutique that sells golden ice cream bars to hypebeast sneakers to luxury skincare.

But what does Nothing Phone (1) have in store? Unlike the brand name, nothing has everything. At least for a phone that runs on a Snapdragon 778G+ powered by a decent 4,500-mAh battery that fills up from zero to 50 percent in just 30 minutes.
Nothing boasts of dual 50MP rear cameras with 4k video at 30 frames per second, and 1080p at 60 frames per second. Its selfie camera comes with a 16MP resolution captured through a relatively large f/2.5 aperture to capture more light instantly.
What sets Nothing apart from other smartphones is its signature “Glyph Interface” on the back panel, which looks like a tactical design with LED lights to alert you on notifications.

Considering Google is among the investors in the much hyped smartphone, Nothing has promised three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, according to a report by Yugatech.
Nothing Phone Price in the Philippines
The Nothing Phone (1) will be priced approximately P27,000 to P30,000. According to the Nothing’s website, the phone will be sold through Commonwealth’s online shop and physical store starting July 18, 2022. It will also be available on other online stores on August 1.
