In case you didn’t know, the leading mobile smartphone brand in the country in 2022 is Oppo. According to Statista, the Chinese consumer electronics company had a total market share of 18.72 percent, followed closely by fellow Chinese brand Vivo with 16.17 percent, and with 15.07 percent.

(In case you were wondering, Apple was at number six with 10.43 percent, behind Realme and Xiaomi).

The lead didn’t diminish in the first month of 2023, with Oppo still outselling all the other brands with 19.54 percent of the country’s total mobile market followed by the same top five.

And it doesn’t look like the Guangdong-headquartered mobile phone brand intends to relinquish the top spot anytime soon, with the recent launch of its newest product, the Oppo Reno8 T.

At the product launch at the Enderun Tent in McKinley Hill, Taguig, local Oppo executives highlighted the key features of the latest model in its Reno series:  an eye-popping 100MP portrait camera, a gorgeous fiberglass-leather design, 8GB RAM that can be expandable by up to another 8GB, 256GB ROM, and 48-Month Fluency Protection.

An interesting feature is the microlens, which basically turns the phone into a microscope, magnifying images up to 40x.

The image capturing capabilities of the Reno8 T are taken up a notch, including AI Portrait Super Resolution, Bokeh Flare Portrait, Selfie HDR, AI Portrait Retouching, and Flash Snapshot, all of which can help even the most novice photographers capture professional-quality photos.

One other key feature executives focused on is the unit’s state-of-the-art charging technology. For people who need juice fast, the Reno8 T can be charged from battery empty to 100 percent in just over an hour. Alternatively, a five-minute charge can offer users up to two hours of talk time.

And especially for mobile gamers who want a more immersive experience while they play, the unit offers a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate as well as dual stereo speakers that provide surround sound.

The fiberglass-leather technology feels warm and comfortable in the hand, and it looks premium, too. The all-new Reno8 T comes in Sunset Orange (dead-ringer for Hermes, if you ask us), and Midnight Black.

The SRP of the Reno8 T is P18,999. For more information, visit the Oppo Philippines site.
