The Oppo Enco X2 Earbuds Are One of the Best TWS Earphones On the Market

Every pair of TWS earbuds I’ve ever had have died. Some within a month, one pair within a week. They came from the best rated budget earbud brands on the market, but the reviews failed to mention that you got what you paid for—which was subpar quality and zero longevity. That experience taught me two things: that wireless earphones might not be for me, and if you want decent TWS earphones, you should be willing to sacrifice a fortune for it.

Then the Oppo Enco X2 earbuds arrived on my doorstep and blew all those conceptions out of the water. Ranging from P7,999 to P8,999, the Oppo Enco X2 is one of the best TWS earbuds on the market and it’s proving that you don’t need to sell a kidney to get top-shelf quality TWS earbuds. While it might be pricey compared to the subpar “budget” TWS out there, it’s certainly cheaper than more popular brands, yet it delivers the same—if not better—quality as the best of the best. Developed with Dynaudio, the Enco X2 is a worthy investment.

Over the past month, my pair of Oppo Enco X2 earbuds have traveled 25,000 kilometers, endured long-haul flights and short-haul flights, and survived getting dropped on concrete in the middle of a storm. The case might be a little worse for wear, but the earbuds have stayed strong throughout which is proof enough of its durability and longevity. As it should considering its water and dust resistance rating sits at IP54.

As for the noise cancelation features, Oppo lives up to its promise. During long-haul flights, it managed to block out the sound of plane engines, screaming babies, and cabin crew announcements. It’s so good that you can hear your innermost thoughts. It’s so good that you run the risk of being considered a snob when you don’t respond to people because you genuinely can’t hear them.

The Enco X2’s supercharging feature is also just as good as advertised. The earbuds can playback music for up to six hours, and a five minute fast charge can get you two hours of playback in no time. The charging case can also give you 20 more hours with your earbuds. Unless you have 7 hours of back-to-back conference calls or gym sessions, there’s no reason you can’t spare a few minutes to recharge the earbuds, and that’s really all it’ll take—a few minutes.

The Enco X2 is the second iteration of the Enco X series, and Oppo stepped up its game with the X2. The powerful tiny earbuds boast double the sampling rate (96kHz), double the frequency response range (20~40000Hz), and almost double the number of magnets (5 pieces) and transmission code rate (900kbps). Talk about an upgrade.

The design of the Enco X2 is also as sexy as its features. The pair comes in black or white, and both look sleek and minimalist. However, the case leaves much to be desired. As powerful as the earbuds are, the case doesn’t quite live up to its potential. After a month, my case is already showing a few light scratches, which would be preventable if only there were more Oppo Enco X2 cases on the market.

There’s a learning curve that comes with the Oppo earbuds. The Enco X2 is not as fast at connecting to devices as its competitors, but this is only after the first few attempts at connecting. It’s almost as if you need to train your X2 to familiarize itself with your device, then after a few days, it’ll connect seamlessly. The touch controls take some getting used to, and we highly suggest downloading the HeyMelody app to get a better reading of your Enco X2 pair.

Overall, the Oppo Enco X2 is one of the best—and underrated—pairs of TWS earbuds on the market. If you’re looking for a pro-level pair of TWS earbuds, you won’t find another product with the same quality (and price range) as the Enco X2.
