Razer Just Announced the 'World's Smartest Mask,' But There's a Catch
Just when you thought the worst of coronavirus was over, a new strain has popped up to spite us. (Here's everything we know about the new COVID-19 strain so far.) For those that absolutely must go out... well, that means you're not done with masks just yet.
Lucky for us gaming hardware company Razer, known for its gaming mice and laptops, has just introduced the world's smartest face mask. Dubbed Project Hazel, the mask is the ultimate protection one needs.
In a statement, Razer said: "Face the new normal with protection that’s far from average. Introducing our prototype of the most intelligent mask ever created—a design focusing on five key areas to ensure the highest degree of safety with the best quality of life enhancements."
For starters, the mask passes as a surgical N95 respirator which means it protects against large droplets and splashes. In addition to that, the mask comes with a detachable ventilator that filters and regulates airflow, as well as a charging case that has an auto-sterilization function. It looks pretty damn cool, too.
There is a catch (when isn't there?), though. The mask is still a concept AKA you can't get your hands on these bad boys yet. According to Razer, Project Hazel is still waiting on FDA and CDC approval. Once that happens, however, it's a go.
If you can't wait 'til then, we suggest going for the next best thing: LG's wearable air purifier.
