From the mind of Singapore-based menswear designer Kozo Kawamura, Colony Clothing pieces and those from its Fall/Winter 2025 collection are now available for the fashion-conscious Filipino man on the members-only platform The Fortunate Son, and local tailoring group Tiño Suits & Tailoring.
The menswear brand also wrapped up its fifth trunk show highlighting sartorial pieces inspired by mid-century America charm and the craftsmanship and precision from Japanese fashion via the Tiño Group.
Think of safari jackets or even just casual overcoats fashioned out of Kawamura's signature material Ultrasuede, which is as soft as suede and as robust as denim. This combination makes for a material that makes sartorial choices breathable enough for the inferno that is Manila's climate.

Colony Clothing held its trunk show embodying the East-meets-West style sensiblity last November 22 to 23 at Tiño Suits & Tailoring's location in Makati City.
Circling back to the unique Ultrasuede material, Kawamura says this element is key to his "New Colonial Style" that is centered on wearability, versatility, durability, and an air of refinement. This design ethos is also seen as adaptable to the changing Southeast Asian weather.
"I have never seen a material as functional as this one, while also being so luxurious and elegant," according to the seasoned Japanese designer.
"When moving between places with drastically different climates such as Singapore or the Philippines and even to winter destinations like Korea and Italy, Ultrasuede allows me to seamlessly move around the world."

The collection consists of stalwart jackets and pieces that just work for any function such as Colony Clothing's Japanese paper coveralls and modern classics for the globally fashionable man.
Take it from Kawamura, who has over 30 years of menswear knowledge and the know-how that covers vintage American fashion, European vintage clothing, and even innovative modern pieces making use of verstile material.
You can't go wrong with elegant Japanese craftmanship that opens up avenues for layering topped off by the accessories from the existing brands at the The Fortunate Son.
The addition of the intentional ruggedness and class that comes with Colony Clothing pieces to the growing collection of partners at The Fortunate Son is another reason why this platform is one to look out for those who want to elevate their sartorial prowess.
