The U.S.' First NFT-Themed Restaurant Is Now in Asia, And You Can Visit It in Makati

In case you've been living under a rock lately, you should know that Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), while in the middle of a bare market, have become such a cultural phenomenon that there are such a thing as NFT restaurants. And we just had arguably one of the best arrive in the Philippines. Bored and Hungry, the United States first-ever NFT-themed restaurant, is finally in Asia, and it has chosen to open its first branch at The Grid Food Market, Power Plant Mall in Makati City.
The NFT resto gets its interesting distinction from its central theme: the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) collection. Founded by The Food Fighters, an NFT-backed restaurant group, the restaurant quickly grew from being a 90-day pop-up in California to being a national sensation. Co-founders Andy Nguyen, Kevin Seo, Phillip Huynh, and Chef Fernando Valladares collectively decided to put their money into the collection. As a matter of fact, it is also the world's first Bored Ape restaurant. The concept has been quite the success.
Back in November 2022, Bored and Hungry had a pop-up location at the Marriott Hotel for Philippine Blockchain Week, and wound up at The Grid temporarily after. It had been brought in partnership with Tasteless Food Group and it looks like the trendy resto is here to stay.

Now where's those signature smash burgers when you need them? Bored and Hungry now sits permanently at Stall No. 7 at the Powerplant Mall. Of course, we can order their beloved Bored OG Burger or the OG burger combo, courtesy of Chef Fernando Valladares and Golda Valladares, the geniuses behind the "Best Burger in America" (by Good Morning America, mind you) Trill Burgers. Yes, the smash burgers are literally the only burger on the menu, and for good reason. We get crispy beef patties, American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, and, yeah, that damn secret sauce.

And its not stopping there. Apparently, Bored and Hungry Philippines will also be opening another branch at Public Eatery, 4F New Wing, Robinsons Magnolia, Quezon City real soon. Well, this is what we get for being one of the most NFT-crazed nations in the world.
