Three Philippines Bars Make It to Asia's 50 Best Bars' First 51-100 List

The full list will be released on May 6.

The World's 50 Best has released the first-ever 51-100 list of Asia's 50 Best Bars. In the first edition of the ranking, three Philippine bars made it to the list made up of 22 cities across 12 countries in Asia, including locations like Japan's Nara, Sri Lanka's Hiriketiya, and Vietnam's Nha Trang.

The Back Room, a speakeasy-style bar located at Shangri-La at The Fort, topped the list at the 51st spot. It's not The Back Room's first time to be on the list. Upon its opening, the bar ranked 50 on the 2018 list. Last year, the speakeasy made it to the list at 45th place.

In an Instagram post, the bar said: "Our spirits are still high as we hit the #51 spot at Asia's 50 Best Bars. The situation we're in has been really difficult, but despite these tough times, we still toast to all the fellas and bellas, and dear friends, for all your love and support, uniting us all together!"

Oto was the second Philippine bar to be part of the 51-100 ranking at 61st place. While another Poblacion go-to Buccaneers Rum & Cocktails tied with Goa Nights in Macau, China for the 100th place. Check out the rest of Asia's 50 Best Bars 51-100 list here.

"The last year has been devastating for hospitality and it is vital that we support as many businesses as possible at part of their recovery," said Mark Sansom, content editor for Asia's 50 Best Bars. "In a historic first for Asia’s 50 Best Bars awards program, the extended ranking is designed to shine the spotlight on more bars than ever before. As guests begin planning their next bar experiences, this extended list will provide double the choice of exceptional, expert-approved drinking destinations for the months and years ahead."

So, when is the rest of the ranking going to be announced? Asia's 50 Best Bars 1-50 list will be released on May 6 on Facebook and YouTube
