Step Up Your Holiday Cocktail Game With Three Bitters-Infused Drinks

An Old Fashioned never tasted better.

The holidays are coming up, which means there are plenty of occasions to try your hand at making some new cocktails. Whether it be a work event or a small gathering at home, you'll impress the holiday party circuit with your cocktail-making skills by adding one key ingredient: ANGOSTURA® bitters.

Here, mixologist Rob Hinderliter demonstrates how you can make your cocktails taste that much better by incorporating ANGOSTURA bitters across three holiday-themed drinks.

First, we see the Classic Old Fashioned, which starts with two dashes of ANGOSTURA® orange bitters on a sugar cube, followed by two dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters.

Next up is the Dirty Toddy, which includes five dashes of the ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters and will certainly warm you up. Finally, the Citrus Fizz. It's arguably the most aesthetically pleasing of the cocktails, and you can create an ANGOSTURA aromatic bitters swirl in the foam.

Classic Old Fashioned


  • 2 oz. rye bourbon
  • 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® orange bitters
  • 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters
  • 1 sugar cube
  • club soda


    1. Place a sugar cube into an Old Fashioned Glass.
    2. Wet it with 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® orange bitters, followed by 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters and a splash of club soda.
    3. Crush the sugar with a wooden muddler, rotate the glass so the sugar grins and bitters give a lining.
    4. Add a large ice cube, pour in the whiskey.
    5. Garnish with an orange twist, and serve with a stirring rod.

    Dirty Toddy


    • 1 oz. cognac
    • 1 oz. ANGOSTURA® 1919 rum
    • 1 oz. lemon juice
    • 3 oz. boiling water
    • 1 oz. simple syrup
    • 5 dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters


      1. Put all ingredients into mug one by one.
      2. Pour in 3 ounces of boiling water until mixed.
      3. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and a lemon wheel studded with cloves.

      Citrus Fizz


      • 2 oz. gin
      • .75 oz. lemon juice
      • .75 oz. cranberry juice
      • 2 dashes of ANGOSTURA® orange bitters
      • a few dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters
      • 1 egg white
      • cloves


        1. Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin and dry shake.
        2. Add ice, shake once more, and strain into a coupe.
        3. For an artistic touch, add a few dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters to the foam to create a swirl.
        4. Garnish with a single clove.
