The Philippine coffees outshone more than 700 entries from around the world. It can be remembered that in 2017, SGD Coffee also won the Gourmet Award in the third edition of the AVPA Awards. The AVPA is a Paris-based body composed of producers and taste enthusiasts. It aims to enhance the value of agricultural products by recognizing the excellence of producers who are sometimes forgotten in the commercialization of their produce.

According to the Department of Trade and Industry, Mirabueno Coffee and Sagada Coffee are part of The Coffee Heritage Project (TCHP) in the Philippines, a non-profit private initiative which takes "quality-focused approaches in coffee production."
