Bond over food. Always over food.

It’s almost Proustian…or Pavlovian. These family favorite restaurants take you back to your childhood with each bite. Why not get the family together this weekend and reminisce about the good ol’ days?

Peking Garden

You must remember running around the huge Peking Garden restaurant in Glorietta. It was so huge that no matter how full it would get, there was still enough room for kids to horseplay; but it was the peking duck that made mom and dad bring us back there for every celebration. Their Greenbelt 5 location is much smaller but the dishes will still remind you of large family gatherings around a lazy susan teeming with food.

Chef Jessie

It’s hard to separate Chef Jessie Sincioco from her Le Souffle days. Thankfully, Chef Jessie ticks all the boxes for Sunday lunch with the family. Weren’t the soufflés such fun to eat? What kid (and kid at heart) wouldn’t want another bite of their chocolate soufflés, drizzled with vanilla sauce?

Sugi

This is probably the first place you ever tried to eat raw fish with chopsticks, dunking the whole piece in a little dish of soy sauce muddled with wasabi.

Sugi is at Greenbelt 2, Ayala Center, Greenbelt, Makati City.
