Frankie's Named Best Chicken Wings in Manila By Travel Site
We've heard a few odd sentiments about chicken wings—there's not enough meat, you have a hard time eating them, blah blah blah—but we firmly believe that the closer to the bone you can get, the better the flavor. We're not sure how hard it is to mess up chicken wings, but what we do know is we like them coated, flavorful, fried, and occasionally spicy. But if someone were to narrow it down, who would they say were the best?
And why wouldn't Frankie's make it?
Big 7 Travel gives Frankie's New York Buffalo Wings some pretty heavy praise. "Frankie’s is known as a key player in the whole fast-casual wing scene in Manila," says the Big 7 team, "and...you’re never too far away from these delicious wings."
"They’re larger and meatier than your standard wing," they say. They also cite the Salted Egg and Wicked Wasabi wings as popular flavors, but if you ask us, we're partial to the Classic Buffalo. Or the Garlic Parmesan. Or the Smokey BBQ. What can we say? The people over at Frankie's know how to play with flavors.
We also loved Sweet Ecstasy chicken wings; we're glad Big 7 agrees!
Mando's Wingshack is another notable restaurant with out-there flavors, like their Sweeracha, Bleu Cheese, and the HCP—short for honey, calamansi, and patis. Other names that made it on the list are Doc Wings, Flaming Wings, Sweet Ecstasy—known for having one of the best burgers in Manila—Wingman, and B. Wings, a student-friendly staple over at Loyola Heights.
