The Boiling Crab is Coming to Manila in 2020

It's seafood paradise.

Get your giant bibs ready! The Boiling Crab is heading to Manila in early 2020, making the Philippines the second international location to get a taste of the popular Louisiana-style Cajun seafood boil restaurant.

Before it started serving customers like Jay-Z and Beyonce, The Boiling Crab was a small mom and pop store in a small Southeastern Texan town back in 2004. Now, the family-style restaurant is bringing its backyard crab boil grill experience to the rest of the world.

The first international location will open in late 2019 in Shanghai, China. With plans for the Philippines, The Boiling Crab will soon have Southeast Asia in its global portfolio. The casual dining seafood house already has 21 locations across the U.S.

The Boiling Crab is best known for its fresh assortment of seafood and shellfish; items like fried catfish, gumbo, and Cajun fries; and of course, its signature secret flavor: The Whole Shebang.


“A bib, some beer, crab legs, and good company is what we are all about,” said The Boiling Crab CEO Dada Ngo.

The team responsible for bringing The Boiling Crab to the Philippines is Full Feeling Global, Inc., a franchise operator that also brought okonomiyaki restaurant Dohtonburi to the Philippines. They plan to open seven more branches of The Boiling Crab across the country by 2024.

“We’re very excited to be expanding to the Philippines, a country that shares the same core values as our concept—the love of shared food with family and good friends, all while eating with your hands,” said Ngo.

The Boiling Crab should not be confused with other crab and seafood restaurants in the city with the same or similar name. The location of The Boiling Crab's first Philippine branch is yet to be announced.
