In this time of coronavirus, we’ve grown to adore home-cooking, but we can’t deny the craving for some good takeout every now and then. And so, GrabFood, FoodPanda, and LalaFood are now pinned to our home menus as we anxiously await for new promos, new dishes, and... new restaurants?

New restaurants during a pandemic aren’t something we expected, not when others are closing left and right, but the drive to push through with a restaurant launch during this crisis is something to be admired. That takes guts and a solid belief in its concept.

Enter ChowCiao, the latest chicken-and-pizza establishment of The Bistro Group with none other than its executive corporate chef, the highly respected Josh Boutwood, at the helm.

The man behind top-tier establishments like Helm, Savage, and the Test Kitchen, Boutwood oversees The Bistro Group’s wide array of restaurants like Italianni’s, TGI Friday’s, and the Hard Rock Cafe. So you know you're in for a treat with his new brainchild. 

A little more affordable than its sister restaurants, ChowCiao’s menu is made up of chicken and pizza dishes, a mix of Italian and Italian-American cuisine that are both favorites with the Filipino crowd. Now, we want to say that ChowCiao offers some delicious comfort food, but everything is comfort food in this pandemic. (And lord, do we need comfort.)

Just look at this list of chicken flavors and tell us they didn’t hit the mark: original, buffalo, honey miso and furikake (stoked!), sweet barbecue, and chipotle and quezo fresco. The pizza flavors also cover all the bases: margherita, spicy pepperoni, prosciutto, three-meat, napolitana, Hawaiian, truffle, agliata, four cheese, and campagna.
