Here's Everything You Need to Know About McDonald's Plant-Based Burger

2020 has given us plenty of plot twists. Seriously, with each day comes a new surprise. And, somehow, McDonald's latest announcement is pretty up there when it comes to the more unpredictable ones. Well, here goes: McDonald's is in the process of creating a plant-based burger.
Dubbed the McPlant, the meatless burger is already in the testing phase. According to USA TODAY, the burger is already expected to come in various McDonald's outlets across the world as early as next year. FYI, 2021 is in two months, so you won't have to wait any longer.
"McPlant is crafted exclusively for McDonald’s, by McDonald’s," shares McDonald's international president Ian Borden. "In the future, McPlant could extend across a line of plant-based products including burgers, chicken substitutes, and breakfast sandwiches."
Now, McDonald's isn't the first fast-food restaurant to add a meatless burger to its menu. Carl's Jr, Del Taco, and many have led the wave, but if the McPlant comes to the Philippines, it could be a game-changer.
"There are other plant-based burgers out there, but the McPlant delivers our iconic taste in a sink-your-teeth-in (and wipe-your-mouth) kind of sandwich. It’s made with a juicy, plant-based patty and served on a warm, sesame seed bun with all the classic toppings," McDonald's said in a statement.
Seeing as most plant-based burgers taste almost (or the same) as the real thing, it's a pretty exciting addition to McDonald's menu. Not to mention, the many benefits this will have for the environment. Yup, agriculture is a significant driver of global warming. Here are the best meatless burgers in the city to try now.
