Before you commit to the latest diet trend and swear off carbs entirely in 2017, you'll want to give Frank Sinatra's famous fettuccine recipe a try. Originally published in The Sinatra Celebrity Cookbook: Barbara, Frank, and Friends alongside dishes by celebrities like Katharine Hepburn and Kirk Douglas, this creamy pasta would make the perfect addition to any menu.
Fettuccine à la Sintatra
Serves 3 or 4
Ingredients
- 1 8-ounce package fettuccine
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper
Directions
Cook fettuccine until it is al dente. Drain pasta. While pasta is cooking, make sauce by melting butter in a saucepan on low heat. Remove butter from heat; blend cream and cheese into it. Return to heat and simmer thoroughly, season with salt and pepper. Careful not to let the sauce come to a boil. Add teh sauce to the drained pasta and let stand, covered, for a couple of minutes. Perhaps garnish with parsley. Serves three or four.
