While 2020 has been a horrible year for the world on most fronts, surely there have been some bright spots in our lives to be grateful for, if we look hard enough.

And so while we attempt to rack our brains over the next few days to find that speck of positivity, at least we can say that one good thing that came out of the lockdown is the plethora of dining options we can order for delivery at home.

Here are some ways you can celebrate Thanksgiving dinner at home this week.

We’ve been spending our annual Thanksgiving dinners at Myron’s at the Ascott, but this year, we’re ordering in.

A half-turkey set (P4,395 for four kilos) comes with pumpkin soup, chorizo pasta, sausage stuffing, French beans, sweet potato, cranberry jelly, giblet sauce, and apple pie.

02.7755.8898. Please reserve three days in advance, which means NOW. Myron’s is also open for a Thanksgiving set dinner with unlimited turkey and beef belly (P850++ a person) at 6 p.m. on November 26.

La Cabrera

If it's cow you crave over bird, the Argentinian steakhouse's branches at 6750 in Makati and at Edsa Shangri-La are both open to welcome you. But if you must stay home, La Cabrera's pre-grilled steaks hit the spot. Your favorite cuts are seasoned just the way you like them and seared over firewood in a custom-built parrilla before they're frozen for you to eat whenever you want them.

Slow Burn MNL

Chryso Morales, a young chef, his brother, Dale, still in college, and a friend, Matthew Ignacio, have been putting together beautiful turf and surf platters and sending them all across the city.

The star is a rack of grilled fall-off-the-bone baby back ribs and sweet, juicy shrimp served with mushroom-specked truffled umami rice, French beans, and cherry tomatoes.

Or, for those who prefer seafood, there is surf and surf. A slab of seared salmon over squid ink rice.

Lechon Diva

Aside from the glorious stuffed lechons that Dedet dela Fuente is famous for, her eight treasure roast chicken is pure delight—bursting with Chinese sausage, chestnuts, salted egg yolks, mushrooms, nuts, glutinous rice, and Chinese ham. Perfect for Thanksgiving or any other celebratory holiday.

What is a Filipino holiday table without lechon? Elar’s make the classic lechon, roasted on a spit over fiery coals. Just looking at this clip of that shiny caramel-colored crispy skin makes us weep with desire.
