Don’t Forget the Typhoon Victims. Here’s How to Donate Food From Home
Thousands of Filipinos have lost their homes and livelihoods due to Typhoon Ulysses. When the floods rose in Marikina, Cagayan, Isabela, and more, many fled with only the clothes on their backs as the floods washed away all of their belongings overnight.
While the storm has passed for us, the struggle has only begun for the Filipino families that are still living in evacuation centers or on the generosity of their neighbors.
To help, Kraver’s Canteen, one of the first cloud kitchens in the country, is giving its users an opportunity to donate to typhoon victims. Every order Kraver’s receives in November will be matched with one meal donated to afflicted and displaced families in Marikina.
It’s an easy way to help your fellow Filipinos. You can also donate directly and purchase more donation meals on Kraver’s, or even Grab or Foodpanda. You can donate three meals for P150, 10 meals for P675, or 25 meals for P1,800.

“When the typhoon hit, we were forced to shut down for the day because many of our staff were stranded or dealing with the damage at home—we had staff who were stuck on the roof, others that had their cars rained out, and many more who suffered damages to their personal things,” explained Victor Lim, general manager of Kraver’s Canteen, who went on to add that Kraver’s already had a system in place to facilitate donations as they regularly donate to frontliners during this pandemic.
“We decided that, instead of giving away food to our customers, we wanted to facilitate a way to give back to those who really need it and get our customers involved,” he added.
The project was born after the food startup celebrated its 25,000th customer order and opened its third cloud kitchen in Maginhawa. Instead of throwing a big bash, the company, in partnership with Pembarya Project, gave P25,000 worth of food donation to relief efforts and set up an entire campaign to let its customers in on the act of bayanihan.
For them, the best way to celebrate was to pay it forward.
