Who knew a pandemic would bring about numerous food trends and home bakers? Not us... but that doesn't mean we're immune to both. Yup, we have our own list of trusty places to order from. As for food trends, like most, we've considered the viral pancake cereal. But, seriously, what's a food trend without a twist? Plain ol' pancake cereal? Meh. Pancake cereal with beer, however? Now we're talking.

Here's an easy recipe for pancake cereal with beer because it's not too late to get into this easy yet extremely fun food trend. It's essentially pancake mix with more good stuff like beer and peanut butter. Save it for a boozy breakfast kind of day (aka the upcoming weekend).

RECIPE

  • 500g pancake mix
  • 500ml milk
  • 100ml beer
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons canola oil


METHOD

1| In a bowl, combine pancake mix and 100ml of milk. Whisk until smooth.

2| Slowly add beer and continue mixing until smooth.

3| Transfer batter in a squeeze bottle or Ziplock bag.

4| Heat up a non-stick pan and add oil.

5| Squeeze batter into the pan, one coin-sized portion at a time.

6| Cook for about 1 to 2 minutes or until bubbles start to form on top.

7| Flip each one and continue cooking for 1 minute.

8| Transfer to a bowl and pour the remaining milk.

9| Top with peanut butter or honey.
