What was the point of the liquor ban again? We've forgotten. What's more important is that Pasay has lifted its liquor ban.

Liquor is actually not specified in the guidelines of the Enhanced Community Quarantine, but local government units decided to push towards caution. Cebu, currently the city hardest hit by the pandemic, was the first to impose the ban on March 16, immediately after the implementation of the ECQ. Cities in Metro Manila followed suit. Pasay, was one of the last ones to install a liquor ban, only doing so on April 14. Makati and Taguig, like many other countries in Asia, did not restrict alcoholic beverages.

Since the lockdown, liquor companies have been pleading with the government to restart their industry.

Hence, today is a small victory. City Ordinance No. 6107 is allowing Pasay residents to cheers to life as it lifts the liquor ban.
