You can still have the best ramen in the Metro.

Ramen Yushoken and its sibling restaurant Mendokoro Ramenba are famous for many things: first, they arguably have the best ramen in the country; two, they probably also have the best gyoza in the country; three, they do not offer takeout.

Though the last one seems pretty draconian to a paying customer, there's a valid reason. The owners pride themselves in quality and consistency, and they know that the best way to enjoy ramen is piping hot and freshly assembled, not 30-minutes after.

But the rules of the world have changed. Starting today, April 1 (and no, it's not an April Fool's Joke), both Ramen Yushoken and Mendokoro Ramenba are offering all the ingredients you need to make your own ramen at home. The kit contains the signature broth in a frozen pack, handcrafted ramen noodles, plus fix-ins like chasiu and condiments. Available varieties include Shio, Shoyu, Super Chasu, and Tantanmen.

They are also offering the aforementioned gyoza, plus karaage and chahan to complete the experience.

Orders are available for pick-up and delivery. A minimum of P500 is required for a Makati delivery, while a minimum of P1,000 is required for Mandaluyong, San Juan, Pasig, Manila, Pasay, and Taguig.

Orders need to be placed ONE day in advance, and there's a 3 p.m. cut-off.

Mendokoro Ramenba is at V Corporate Center, Salcedo Village, Makati; 0917-502-0894; 0917-626-3731.
