The most coveted item to drop this week is not an Adidas collab sneaker, nor an Apple TV+ subscription, but a dutch oven. Yes, a dutch oven. The one in question comes from, who else, Le Creuset, and it is modeled in the style of Darth Vader. Sith lord of the stars, hunter of Jedi, destroyer of planetary systems. Yeah, that guy. It's not canon, but maybe he also knew how to make a mean casserole.

Le Creuset launched an entire line of Star Wars cookware today, including said Darth Vader dutch oven, which will run you $450. Also included in the Star Wars collection are mini cocottes (a.k.a single-serve dishes) inspired by the most famous trio of droids in this galaxy, R2-D2, C-3PO, and BB-8 ($30 each), as well as Millennium Falcon and Death Star trivets for holding hot plates ($20 each) and a Porg pie bird. A pie bird, for the non-bakers, sits in the middle of a pie while it's in the oven to preserve its structural integrity. That round Darth Vader dutch oven, though. That's where the magic's at.

Le Creuset also made four beautiful dutch ovens hand-painted like the skies of Tatooine, complete with the binary suns, but you had to sign up early to snag one at $900 a pop. And the least subtle of the Star Wars cookware collection, a $450 roaster with a lid depicting Han Solo frozen in carbonite, is already sold out. So there are two items that you won't be able to dump your entire paycheck into.

Le Creuset cookware is timeless, the kind of stuff you'll always find on wedding registries and heavily stocked at Williams Sonoma. Does that make this Star Wars experiment the most unexpected nerd-merch/high-end cookery mashup of all time? Probably! That won't make you want it any less.
